Karl Otto Lagerfeld was a German creative director, fashion designer, artist, photographer, and caricaturist who lived in Paris best known as the creative power behind the modern revival of Chanel, the legendary French fashion house. He was also creative director of the Italian fur and leather goods fashion house Fendi and of his own eponymous fashion label. He collaborated on a variety of fashion and art-related projects. He was recognized for his signature black glasses, white hair, fingerless gloves, and detachable collars.
Weeks after his death, aged in Neuilly-sur-Seine, his last collection for Chanel was show cased and boy, was it a heavenly show!
With the Fall-Winter 2019/2020 show, the irreverence of his art, the genius and the deftness that was his signature, shone through the emotional delivery of the models.
His legacy truly lives on.
