Matte nail polish has been a trend for a long time now, as a matter of fact if I am been completely honest; it is a trend that is starting to fizzle out.
However, a few trend latecomers are just getting into it, I am normally a latecomer on trends but this one I fell in love with pretty early.
So, if you are just starting to buy into the idea of matte nail polish or if you already bought into the idea but still can’t find to buy anywhere, or if you think it is too expensive, here is a DIY (Do It Yourself) post for you.
You will need a good brand of nail polish(I recommend Vane nail polish), clear nail polish known to some as nail hardener and corn flour/matte eyeshadow
- Whether you are using matte eyeshadow or corn flour, you will need to sift it first. To ensure there are no clumps in it
- After sifting, you will need a toothpick or a spatula to lift the desired quantity of eyeshadow or cornflour required
You can either make your clear nail polish matte, because if you do that you can simply apply your home made matte nail hardener on your layer of normal nail polish or you can make your nail polish matte.
Whichever way you decide to go, ensure the bottle is half full, so the corn flour or matte eyeshadow will mix well.
Let me know the results you achieve, or if you have any matte nail secrets to spill.
